Saturnalia
Saturday, 16 December 2023The first edition of the [CAL-DAY-RAH-DAH] Supper Club was an allusion to the Saturnalia celebration of Ancient Rome. A themed dinner in 5 gastronomic moments prepared by the award-winning Chef João Oliveira, accompanied by performances, installations and other lively moments of interaction by the artist Inês Barracha and special guest Sara Baga.
The two multidisciplinary artists creatively intertwined historical facts about the development of the Algarve and Portimão at the time of the Roman Empire, with reflections on the current global issue of the legislative proposal for the new generation of genetic editing organisms (GMOs), particularly in the regarding seeds and agriculture.
