Palestine Cinema Days – Around the World é uma iniciativa do Filmlab Palestine, nascida em 2023 para difundir obras produzidas na Palestina, sobre a Palestina, dada a escalada de violência e genocídio em Gaza, transformando-se num movimento global de solidariedade, resistência e memória. Em 2025, o cinema palestiniano percorre o mundo — 700 sessões, 94 países, 425 cidades — e chega também a Portimão.

Passada "no futuro... algures", retrata a vida de um casal palestiniano num "lugar que existe no limiar entre a realidade e a imaginação". Suleiman e Lubna encarnam a realidade de um povo/uma nação assolada por décadas de conflito e ocupação, tentando evadir-se através natureza e de uma história que contam um ao outro. Um poderoso retrato que olha o futuro para nos fazer entender a capacidade de superação e resiliência do povo Palestiniano perante o sofrimento e perda irreparáveis.

Retrata o genocidio em Gaza através do olhar de um cirurgião Palestiniano-Britanico, o prestigiado Dr. Ghassan Abu Sitah. Após 43 dias em serviço nos hospitais Al Shifa e Al Ahli, sob constante bombardeamento, este médico tornou-se um simbolo da resistência do povo Palestiniano e uma voz de testemunho que fala ao mundo.

Palestine Cinema Days – Around the World is an initiative by Filmlab Palestine, launched in 2023 to promote films produced in or about Palestine, in response to the escalation of violence and genocide in Gaza, it has evolved into a global movement of solidarity, resistance, and remembrance. In 2025, Palestinian cinema is traveling the world — 700 screenings, 94 countries, 425 cities — and also arrives in Portimão.

Set “in the future… somewhere,” the film portrays the life of a Palestinian couple in a “place that exists on the threshold between reality and imagination.” Suleiman and Lubna embody the reality of a people—a nation—devastated by decades of conflict and occupation, seeking escape through nature and the stories they tell each other. A powerful portrayal that looks to the future to help us understand the resilience and endurance of the Palestinian people in the face of suffering and irreparable loss.

This documentary depicts the genocide in Gaza through the eyes of Dr. Ghassan Abu Sittah, a renowned Palestinian-British surgeon. After 43 days of service at Al Shifa and Al Ahli hospitals under constant bombardment, he became a symbol of Palestinian resistance and a voice of testimony speaking to the world.
This film will be subtitled in English.
In Portimão, the Palestine Cinema Days – Around the World initiative also includes an additional screening at Clube União Portimonense, organized in collaboration with the Algarve for Palestine group.
